Prairie View A&M University

Prairie View A&M University (PVAMU) is a public historically Black land-grant university in Prairie View, Texas. Established in 1876, it is the second oldest public institution of higher learning in the state and the oldest public HBCU in Texas. PVAMU is a member of the Texas A&M University System and the Thurgood Marshall College Fund, offering a wide array of academic programs.

PVAMU offers baccalaureate degrees in 50 academic majors, 37 master's degrees, and four doctoral degree programs across eight colleges and the School of Architecture. Prairie View itself is a vibrant college town with a small-town atmosphere, offering residents a sparse suburban feel.
