About Connecticut College
Academics
Connecticut College is accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education and offers over 40 traditional majors, alongside opportunities for students to design their own courses of study. The "Connections" curriculum, implemented for the class of 2020, is an interdisciplinary general education program that integrates coursework with internships, study abroad, and leadership experiences. Popular majors include Psychology, Economics, Political Science and Government, Computer Science, and Biological Sciences. The college is also recognized for strong programs in environmental studies and international relations, emphasizing experiential learning.
International Students
Connecticut College offers comprehensive support services for international students, coordinated by an International Student Adviser. These services include guidance on F-1 visa-related questions, pre-departure information, first-arrival planning, and assistance with immigration policies and regulations. An "Odyssey" pre-orientation program helps first-year international students adjust to campus life and U.S. regulations. Each new international student is assigned an International Adviser (IA), an older international student who provides support for adjusting to life in the U.S. and Connecticut College. International students constitute about 6% of the full-time undergraduate population.
Campus & Location
Connecticut College's campus is situated in New London, Connecticut, a city with a rich maritime history. The campus itself is suburban and spans 750 acres, including the Charles E.
