National Dong Hwa University

National Dong Hwa University (NDHU), established in 1994, is a comprehensive public research university located in Hualien, Taiwan. It is recognized for its commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and international engagement, serving as a leading institution in Eastern Taiwan. NDHU accommodates approximately 10,000 students across its three campuses, supported by over 600 full-time faculty members.

Academics

NDHU offers a wide range of disciplines across eight colleges, including Humanities and Social Sciences, Science and Engineering, Management, Education, Arts, Indigenous Studies, Environmental Studies and Oceanography, and Huilan. Campus & Location

NDHU's main Shoufeng campus is Taiwan's largest flat-land university campus, spanning 251 hectares (620 acres) and designed in a postmodern style. It is celebrated for its picturesque environment, featuring lush greenery, three lakes (Dong Lake being the most famous), and European-styled buildings, making it ideal for strolling and cycling. Located in Shoufeng, Hualien, the campus is approximately 15 kilometers south of Hualien City and about 35 kilometers south of Taroko National Park, offering a serene natural setting. Transportation to the university is available via bus or taxi from Hualien Train Station.
