DAVV offers a diverse range of programs across 16 faculties, with 33 teaching departments and centers. The university is known for being among the first in India to introduce innovative and integrated courses in science, engineering, technology, management, law, and media. It has strong multidisciplinary strengths, with over 70% of courses focused on enhancing employability in key sectors of the Indian economy.
International Students
Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya actively encourages international students, reserving 15% of seats in each course specifically for them, over and above the existing seat capacity. The university has an International Cooperation Cell (ICC) to facilitate the admission process for foreign applicants. While specific diversity statistics are not readily available, the university received 78 applications from foreign nationals in 2021, primarily from South Asian and African countries. Students admitted through channels like the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) are charged fees on par with Indian students and are exempt from entrance tests for certain courses.
Campus & Location
DAVV's extensive campus spans 760 acres, with academic activities primarily located on the Takshashila and Avanti campuses. The university provides on-campus hostels for both boys and girls, a central library with national and international resources, and ICT-enabled classrooms. Indore, a major city in Madhya Pradesh, offers a vibrant urban environment. The campus also features a well-equipped Department of Physical Education and sports centers to promote student participation in extracurricular activities.
Career Outcomes
DAVV has a dedicated Training and Placement Cell (T&P Cell) that works to connect students with potential employers. While specific employment rates vary by program, the university has a track record of companies visiting the campus for placements. For example, in 2022, approximately 108 companies visited the campus, and around 1500 students were placed.
