International Hellenic University

The International Hellenic University (IHU), established in 2005, is Greece's first public university where programs are taught exclusively in English. Located in Thessaloniki, it aims to be a leading research and academic institution in Europe, attracting a diverse body of students and faculty. IHU offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs across nine Schools and thirty-three Departments. The International Students Support Unit (ISSU) guides international students through their academic and social journey in Thessaloniki, assisting with formalities like residence permits, accommodation, health insurance, and opening bank accounts. IHU offers free Greek language courses to help international students integrate into Greek life. The university actively fosters a multicultural environment, attracting students from various countries across Europe, Asia, Africa, and the USA. Student organizations such as ESN IHU Thessaloniki organize social events, cultural activities, and trips to help international students feel at home and facilitate cultural integration.

Campus & Location

The main administrative campus of IHU is situated on a 16,000m² area in the outskirts of Thermi, Thessaloniki, with additional campuses across Northern Greece. Thessaloniki, Greece's second-largest city, offers a vibrant city life with a rich history, culture, arts, and numerous historical monuments. The city is a major university hub, hosting a large student population. The Thermi campus is accessible by bus from the city's railway station.

IHU's Employment and Career Structure (ECS) connects the university with the labor market and promotes an entrepreneurial climate. The Careers Office provides guidance, resources, and career opportunities, including CV writing and interview preparation workshops. The Innovation & Entrepreneurship Unit promotes entrepreneurship and innovation culture, assisting students and alumni in exploring entrepreneurial opportunities through events, workshops, and business plan competitions.
